This post is brought to you by Worthy.com.

Have you ever bought or sold something as part of an online auction? If you have then you probably know that things aren’t always what they seem. As a seller it’s never a happy moment when you learn that your winning bidder doesn’t in fact have the funds to pay for the item. As a buyer it’s never fun to receive the item you bid on only to find out that it is not what you expected it to be. When you are buying or selling an item of substantial value you want to be sure everything is as it should be. Worthy can help with that.

Worthy.com is a place where you can sell your valuables in an online auction. Worthy only handles auctions for pre-owned luxury items. These are items valued $1,000 or higher, including items such as jewelry, diamonds, gemstones, watches and precious metals. Worthy limits the types of items it hold auctions for in order to maintain a high level of quality and customer satisfaction. By limiting the types of items the Worthy professionals can focus on items that they know their buyers are looking for.
Now, Worthy.com isn’t just any auction site. Worthy does a lot of legwork for you. Once you’ve decided you’re going to sell an item you send Worthy a photo and description of it. Worthy takes that info and searches recent auctions to see how those items sold and presents that information to you. If after receiving your market estimate you want to proceed you send Worthy the item you want to auction off. They handle the overnight shipping free of charge and insure the item as well. If you have any questions at any point there are consultants available by telephone, email and chat to help you through the process.
Once Worthy receives the item it is logged in so it can be tracked and monitored at any time. The item will then be evaluated, professionally cleaned, photographed. The evaluation is done to ensure that the item is actually what you say it is. A detailed description of your item compiling that information will be put together for the actual auction. Then Worthy starts hunting for people that would be interested in bidding on your item.

Once the bidding starts there is no need for you to worry about a buyer as you might on other auction sites, because all of the buyers have been vetted and are aware that bids are binding. You can monitor bidding in real-time. At the end of the auction you’ll receive a summary and final offer. If you accept you receive your proceeds immediately. If you for some reason choose not to accept the final offer then you item will be returned to you free of charge.
Here’s a brief video explaining how it works a bit better.

I have bid on things on Ebay that I have missed out on, but nothing major., I am not brave enough to spend big bucks.
Same here. I have a friend that basically makes his living buying and reselling but I don’t have the knack I guess.
I’ll have to check this out. I like to find new treasures and ways to save.
I’ve had a few problem auctions where I either got something not as described or it took forever to get to me. I don’t think I’d bid online for anything like these items. I’m sure a braver person would!
I have not had anything major happen, thank heavens! That would be horrible.
I’ve had a buyer demand a refund when my post clearly stated no refunds. There was nothing wrong with the item, she admitted, she just didn’t like it when she bought it….
I used to follow auctions a lot. Just did not get what was stated a time or two and just slowed down on buying.
This sounds like a really cool new auction site. I have had bad experiences with some online auctions before, but I always go back to them…
I’ve never done very well with Ebay, but this sounds like a much better process for trying to sell something. I’m going to keep them in mind for next time.
What a cool way to buy and sell. I used to get a bad auction every now and then on eBay. Sometimes people lie about their items to make them seem better than they are.
I have never bought anything considered luxury. Though I did buy my daughter a Tom and Jerry series boxed set. It arrived and the entire thing was in Chinese. Good thing they didn’t talk much in that show!
This looks like a very interested site. I will be checking it out.
I’ve bought a few things through auctions, but it’s not something I’m all that familiar with. I’d love to see what luxury items I could find at good prices.
I only buy on ebay but have had a few disappointments on there over the years.
That’s nice that they’re helping to make the experience better for everyone. eBay is the only bid site I’ve ventured onto. Most experiences were good, some def. not.
I’ve never done an online auction! I have used eBay but only on the buy it now, never an auction!
I LOVE online auctions- thanks for telling us about this one!
This sounds like a great site. I definitely had some auction let downs
I’ve never heard of this! I’ll definitely be checking it out.
I was disappointed with a purchase online. The seller tried to make it right but it was such a pain that I let it go.
I bid on things on eBay and some other auction sites. I’ve had some good experiences and a few bad. I have not heard of this one, I might have to check it out.
I’m not really a fan of auctions but this looks interesting. I will have to check them out!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Ebay is about all that I have done to try and win. I’ve heard of others having problems, too.
You can get quality items, but you need to know what you are doing. I’ve scored some great estate jewelry.
I’ve never thought of buying something on an auction online but this sounds like a good one. I love necklaces and I think this could be a fun way to get some really cool pieces.
I avoid auctions. I like to research the product and its value then shop until either it or I drop.
I’ve been hesitant to deal with online auction sites. It took me forever to even join eBay.
I’ve never really used online auction sites. I might be interested though, so maybe I’ll check this one out.
I’ve never heard of this site. Nice. What a cool way to buy and sell luxury items.
I’ve never had a disappointing experience but I am also very picky about what I purchase that way.
I have never hard of this site but it sounds like a safe and easy way to buy those luxury items.
