MY THOUGHTS
Honestly, what is not to love about VeggieTales? I never grew up watching VeggieTales but I was introduced to it when my daughter was a toddler. The first DVD I saw was a compilation of Silly Songs With Larry. From then on, I was hooked and watched several episodes with her. At almost 8 years old, she still enjoys watching them!
My favorite thing about VeggieTales is its ability to tell a story with good morals that children can understand. I am not overly religious, but the religious theme does not bother me because it’s not overly-preachy. Instead, VeggieTales introduces children to God but focuses more on the ways God loves us rather than preaching to young viewers. The moral is always the star of the show.
This particular episode was no different. I think Junior Asparagus is adorable and many children can easily relate to him and his fears. The League of Incredible Vegetables overcame their fears and found a way to stop Dr. Flurry from using their fears for his own good. What an important lesson for children: stand up to those who might try to use your fears against you! This episode also contains the type of silly and adorable songs VeggieTales fans have grown to love, and the DVD includes bonus features like a music video and a guide to raising incredible kids.
