Health Insurance Money
Have your insurance rates changed drastically recently? We got a little surprise at work this past week. We received a packet of paperwork about our health insurance on Thursday. I thought the plan was being changed again. Well, not only is the plan being changed, so are our rates. The employee price is increasing across the board, and even doubling on one plan – my plan. I could barely afford what I was paying before. I can’t afford the new rate, which means I now have to move to a different plan that will cost me more in the end, thanks to higher copays and a deductible. I know from one of my past jobs that many health insurance companies will offer really attractive deals to win a company’s business. I wonder how much shopping was done before deciding to stay with the coverage we have. I’d check on one of the portals but they really aren’t for corporate policies so it probably wouldn’t be very productive. I just can’t help feeling a bit aggravated.
