It is always interesting to see, or in this case to be more accurate, hear, the differences in the way we speak. Not onky do we pronounce things differently, but we also call things by different names. I heard about a Tumblr Accent Challenge in an online group I belong to. I watched some of those people’s answers and thought it was fun and interesting. I want to start doing a bit more video so I decided to take it on camera. I think I look a tad tipsy or something because I had to keep looking at the list LOL. So many people say that people from NJ sound like they’re from NY but I don’t hear it. Anyway…

How fun! I am from the midwest so I always joke that we don’t have an accent. We were in England a year ago and our waiter one said “I love your accents” we smiled and said “your the one with an accent” and we all laughed.

What a fun post! You definitely have a bit of an East coast accent, but I pronounce every word exactly like you do. I am from Las Vegas, Nevada but our pronunciation similarities may be due to the fact that many of my family members originally come from the New York area.
I LOVE this. I have heard I have an accent but I don’t know about that. HA! I am sure I do to those with eastern accents though.
I live in the north, but lived in the south a little of my childhood. Sometimes when I get mad, the southern accent pops out lol.

I live in the same place I grew up so most people around me call things the same things as I do. I forget that it’s so specific to regions.
This is fun! I am from the South, but live in New England currently. They use different terms than what I’m used to for SO MANY things! People have a hard time with my accent, and I have to really listen and think to understand what they’re saying to me, haha!
