The View – Laughs, Sex Toys, Blueberrys, Shoes, Mercury And Michael

Today’s episode of The View was another rerun. This one was from June and we’d been away and I’d missed it so I was glad for the opportunity to see it.
Sherri looked great in a blue top. The shiny silver top Elisabeth had on did not suit her coloring, I thought it made her look pale. Joy was in black A-GAIN. While it suite her coloring and hair it looks like she only has one outfit. Whoppi was off and Rachel Harris was a guest co-host.
Sherri mentioned she was going to start dating again. She had a list of suggested questions to ask potential dates. The questions included “what’s the worst thing that ever happened to you”, “what do you do when you’re alone” and “how do you feel about your mother”. I thought the list was too much, as did Elisabeth who was all for a relaxing first date. Joy had a great point, you don’t know his background so you don’t really know why you might be getting the answers he gives. Noone touched on the other thing – that the guy could lie and give you a false answer anyway. Before long I was laughing hysterically as the conversation somehow turned to sex toys! Who would you guess would know about dolphins? Here’s a clip from that segment, minus the sex toys.

The Ocean Spray guys were on, you know the guys that they always show standing in the bog during the commercials. They showed how to make some blueberry drinks. I thought it was a useful demonstration, much better than reading the instructions.
Next up was a segment on the anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death. The guest was investigative journalist Diane Diamond. Would you have ever thought that Michael Jackson had a deep voice?  I never would have but Diane Diamond said she’d spoken with him and his voice was deep. Anyway. She said that Michael’s children are learning how to fit into society and that the estate is worth a fortune, a fortune that Michael apparently didn’t want most of his family to have access to.
Jeremy Piven from Entourage was on. Season 7 of the show starts this week. I’ve never seen the show but found the conversation with him interesting. They talked about mercury poisoning and how come his mother coaches him for Entourage.
Fashion Friday segment focused on summer shoes. Point of interest – I know strappy wedges are popular but they just don’t look comfortable to me. Anyway. Many of the shoes they featured were actually affordable and they showed where they could be ordered. Many of them were cute however there was this pair of half shoe – half leg warmers that was absolutely hideous.
Kathleen Madigan, a comedienne, was the guest for Joy’s Comedy Corner segment. I wasn’t familiar with her but found her funny. I want to see if she has a tv special or DVD or something I can check out.
