The Tiger’s Tail was written and directed by five-time Academy Award nominee John Boorman. The cast includes Golden Globe nominee Brendan Gleeson (Best Supporting Actor, In Bruges), Golden Globe winner Kim Cattrall (Best Supporting Actress, “Sex and the City”), Ciaran Hinds (There Will Be Blood), Sinéad Cusack (Eastern Promises) and Seán McGinley (Gangs Of New York).

Synopsis – “In a society divided by “haves” and “have nots,” wealthy Irish capitalist Liam O’Leary (Brendan Gleeson) has it all. But now, Liam is being stalked by a menacing look-alike, intent on stealing away everything he has: his job, his wife (Sex and the City’s Kim Cattrall), and his sanity. As his perfect world comes crashing down, Liam must fight to stay alive and uncover the shocking secret of his shadowy past before it destroys him.”

In the suspense movie The Tiger’s Tail Liam O’Leary (Brendan Gleeson) is a fortunate man. As a successful Irish businessman with a beautiful wife (Kim Cattrall) he has it all. He begins to question his own sanity when he begins seeing his double everywhere. He’s convinced that the stress and pressure of his career have driven him over the edge but it has not. His very real double resents Liam’s success and wants to take everything away from him. How well will Liam fare in this battle for his life?

At times I thought The Tiger’s Tail was a bit dark and eerie. His road to questionable sanity is not direct. I thought the movie moved a little slow at one or two points but if it had been cut much more the backstory might not have worked so well. Can you imagine finding out that your whole life is not what you thought and that it was based on a lie? Can you imagine someone having so much anger and resentment that they want to take over your life?
