If you’ve noticed the app reviews lately you may have figured out that I love checking out different games on our iPad. The past week or so I’ve been playing a few different time management games. The most recent one I’m playing is Supermarket Mania 2.
As you might have read in my review of Supermarket Mania, your job in the game is to take care of a grocery store. You have to keep the shelves stocked, by tapping on empty shelves and the stockroom. Stocking the shelves is a constant task as the cart you carry your stock in does not stay full. With the basic cart you can refill 5 shelves or so and then you have to go back to the stockroom and fill it again.
Besides keeping the shelves stocked, there are other things you have to do. You have to clean up spills and dropped items in the aisles. If you don’t do this customers will fall and leave. You also must return lost children to their parent. If you notice shoplifters and hoodlums you have to alert the security guard. The shopping baskets the customers carry are sometimes left in the store. You have to return them to their spot near the door so new customers can come in and shop. You also have to prepare food, such as shakes, coffee and pizza. The levels end when the store closes at the end of the day, which usually takes about 2 minutes or so. Ideally your store will be stocked and clean when the store closes.

As you progress through the game you can purchase upgrades with the points you’ve acquired while playing. The upgrades are different foods, bigger shelves, security equipment, and things to keep customers waiting more patiently.

As with Supermarket Mania, this game starts out fairly easy. But, this one gets really challenging pretty quickly, and continues to get harder as you move along. It can be hard to make 5 shakes and stock the shelves while the customers are slipping, a lost child is crying and a shoplifter is taking things. The only problem I’ve had with this game so far, and it could just be me, is that when making shakes you either have to tap in one specific precise spot or the shakes don’t start making. Once you tap once to make a shake I suggest you tap another 5 times to make extra shakes. Like milkshake in my house, they won’t go to waste. The game is very challenging but fun if you like time management games.
