With the help of Daily Planet photographer James Olsen, her bioengineer sister Alex, and the research of the super-secret, off-the-grid Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO), who are tasked with keeping the Earth safe from aliens, Kara takes to the skies to protect her world.
If you are a fan of the comics from way back when you will probably enjoy the new Supergirl: Season 1. I wasn’t so sure when I first heard about it but I always enjoyed Superman. What I really like about this series is how its focus is on how women can be superheroes also. If you look back I know Wonder Woman was but it seemed back then they focused on mainly how she looked in her ‘costume’.
Supergirl: Season 1 reminds me of the Superman story but it is a girl carrying on the family name so to speak. I also enjoyed how they started the series. Although there are a lot of similarities her story takes on a story of its own.
For me, the episodes never get old and if you are a comic fan I believe you will really enjoy it.

Grew up with comics when they were at their peak and the world still read widely not relying on the boob tube. Superman huge then and still now was the thing although Supergirl was around.
This sounds like a great show. I would love to watch it with my daughter!
Didn’t realize it was out on DVD! I missed the 1st season and see it got picked up by CW for a second. Have to get caught up!
