Spring is here! Or at least that’s what they claim. I’ll believe it when I see it. We’ve got snow in the forecast for 1, maybe 2, days this coming week. I am looking forward to the nice weather. We’ll be doing some work in the yard, so the dog can finally go out and play safely. I’m also hoping we save enough money this year to get a new grill, as ours broke like two years ago. These weeks at the beginning of spring are perfect for cleaning, because if you do it now you get the dust and cobwebs out, declutter, and free up your time for when the nice weather comes. As part of spring cleaning it’s not a bad idea to check your appliances.
After checking his appliances recently, DIY Expert and TV personality Ty Pennington learned his washer/dryer was broken beyond repair. Sears Home Appliances delivered him a new Kenmore compact 24-inch wide stacked washer/dryer that was ideal for his small space. What some people don’t know about Sears is that they’ll not only deliver your appliances, but they’ll set them up for you too. Ty filmed video of the home appliance delivery and setup.
Here are four simple things to keep in mind when spring cleaning.
- Clear the Air: Spring cleaning isn’t only reserved for the things you can see. To combat airborne dust and allergens, try replacing your air conditioner’s air filter and adding air-cleaning houseplants to your home.
- Clean the Coils: The coils of your refrigerator collect dust and dirty coils can reduce the performance and efficiency of the fridge. Clean your coils easily with a coil brush from Sears Parts Direct. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/PM14X51/0046/363
- Cut the Clutter: Hats, mittens, scarves and boots – you name it – they tend to accumulate and create unsightly piles in your closet come springtime. To create a system of organization and to ensure that you know wear your winter gear is next fall; try the Essential Home Black 6 Drawer Cart from Kmart.
- Gut the Gutters: Gutters that pack leaves, twigs and more don’t only look unsightly, but they have the potential to damage the foundation of your property due to runoff water and heavy April showers.
