I don’t get to the movie theater as often as I’d like. One of the movies I missed in theaters that I really wanted to see was Snow White And The Huntsman. Recently I was finally able to see it. The movie is coming out on Blu-ray in a few days. I had the opportunity to have an in-home “uncork a movie night” where a few of us got together, shared some [yellow tail] wine and Popcorn Factory snacks and watched the movie.

ABOUT SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN
From the Producer of Alice in Wonderland comes a new vision that turns a legendary tale into an action-adventure epic. The evil Queen Ravenna (Academy Award winner Charlize Theron) will rule forever if she can take the life of Snow White (Kristen Stewart), so she dispatches the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) to track her down. But the wicked ruler never imagined that the Huntsman would train the girl to become a brave warrior, skilled in the art of war. Filled with intense battles and spectacular visual effects, Snow White & the Huntsman is a thrilling experience that “shouldn’t be missed” — Shawn Edwards, Fox-TV.

MY THOUGHTS
Not only had I not seen this in the theater, but neither had the ladies I watched with. We all found the sets, costumes and graphics outstanding. We all agreed that Charlize Theron played the Evil Queen perfectly. We were all familiar with Kristen Stewart from the Twilight movies, and found her portrayal of snow White to be pretty much on par with her portrayal of Bella in Twilight. If you liked her in that you’ll like her in this. I think appearance wise she was a good choice but as far as acting I think they could have made a better selection of actresses for the role of Snow White. The dwarves were a bit unexpected and scripted a bit awkwardly in my opinion. We all enjoyed the evening, and even though not quite what we’d hoped for, the movie as well.
Here’s the movie trailer.
