Well I went to the sleep center at the local hospital last night for my second sleep study. The rooms were very similar to the place I went last time except it was obvious these used to be hospital rooms, and they were in a hospital. I got to talking a bit with the tech as she was hooking me up and it turns out she was partly trained by the tech who did my first study, who just gave his notice and is moving out of state. She first fits me with a full face mask, which was pretty uncomfortable and confining. She turned it on and I felt so closed in that I panicked and made her take it off. I told her it felt like there was a tornado in my face and I couldn’t wear that. So she tried a nose mask, which I was able to keep on. As usual, I fell right asleep. She woke me at 6am, I remembered nothing. I stopped at Shop Rite on my way home. It was great because there was almost noone in the store at that hour. It was also the perfect time to pick up some fresh warm bagels right out of the oven. Yum.
