Have you ever been in a situation where you felt you ought to send something but didn’t want to send flowers? Have you ever considered anything other than flowers? I was raised by parents who rarely sent flowers to others, but often sent fruit baskets. I never asked why, but I have my own thoughts. Flowers are nice and some sure are beautiful, but let’s face it – flowers wilt and die and then get thrown away. Flowers cost too much money for what you get in return. Fruit baskets, on the other hand, are tasteful and useful. Today in my web travels, I came across a website for The Fruit Company. The Fruit Company is a family business that uses fresh fruit that they grow right here in the USA in Oregon. They were featured in Oprah’s magazine. The Fruit Company carries a selection of holiday gift baskets, as well as fruit clubs, chocolate, and my favorite dessert – cheesecakes. All of which they’ll gladly ship to where you need it to be.
Just look at it, it makes me salivate. (And I’ve been craving cheesecake since before my first surgery at the end of July. I’ll be dreaming about it tonight.)

Check out The Fruit Company next time you need to send someone something.
And feel free to send me the cheesecake while you’re at it.
