I’ve always known Sharpie products are good but when I had surgery (twice) this year I learned they use Sharpie in pre-op. Having used the permanent Sharpie for years I knew it worked on packages and what not. I can also now tell you it works on skin – it’s really hard to wash off! I knew that when I received the opportunity to try Sharpie’s newest product – the Sharpie Gel Highlighter.

MY THOUGHTS
I received samples of the 4-pack of Sharpie Gel Highlighters. These new gel highlighters are approximately the same size as the Sharpie permanent markers, for those of you familiar with those. I love that the highlighters are pen shaped, I much prefer this shape to the older round barrel highlighters we’re all familiar with. I found the color of the marker ink to be quite bright, not faded like some other markers out there. I tried using it on regular paper, a magazine page and a cookbook page – purposely rubbing a finger across after using. The marker didn’t smear on any of the papers and didn’t soak through to the other side. The neatest thing about these highlighters is that they don’t go on wet like other highlighters, they go on dry. If you need to advance the stick to get more gel all you need to do is twist the grooved bottom portion of the barrel.
Sharpie Gel Highlighters are available in blue, green, orange, pink and yellow. The suggested retail price for a 2-pack is $4.49. The highlighters are also available in 3-packs for $6.59 and 4-packs for $8.79 wherever office products are sold.

  1. I always hated the fact that highlighters would bleed through the paper to the other side. I will have to try these for my bible. I love to underline items there that mean something more to me. Now that I can get highlighters that won’t go through, I can highlight. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
