Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing and Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Charles Newirth, Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard, Alan Fine, Stan Lee and Dan Mintz are executive producers.
Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film earned the second biggest domestic opening of all time with $174.1M, crossed the $1 billion global box office threshold in 23 days of release, and currently stands as the #5 worldwide release of all time.

MY THOUGHTS
Ever since I saw a portion of Iron Man 3 while in LA for the Oz premiere I have been looking forward to seeing this movie. Tony Stark, the eccentric, brilliant billionaire inventor returns. Pepper Potts is also back, and she and Tony now in a relationship. Early in the movie Maya, inventor of the Extremis treatment and an old girlfriend of Tony’s, appears. She is no romantic threat but her early appearance is significant because we learn more about events from Tony’s past. We’re also introduced to a new character called The Mandarin, who is the head of a terrorist organization carrying out treacherous acts all over the world. Bodyguard Happy who we know from previous Iron Man movies, is badly injured in one of these attacks. Tony publicly calls The Mandarin out. The Mandarin responds by sending armed helicopters to destroy Tony’s oceanside house. Pepper and Maya get out but Tony falls to his presumed demise in the Pacific Ocean. With Tony gone, Pepper is in charge of Stark Industries.
Unbeknownst to anyone, Tony has made it to Tennessee, where he gets some help from a young boy named Harley. Tony works on repairing his one and only suit and continuing his investigation in The Mandarin, which is he knows is somehow connected to his Tennessee location after inspecting maps. Tony gets enough information to know where The Mandarin is currently hiding, and goes there. It’s at this point that Tony discovers the real identity of The Mandarin, and the motives behind his evil deeds. Colonel Rhodes is back again, also known at the Iron patriot when in his own suit.
The Mandarin kidnaps the President of the US and Pepper Potts. His plan is to use them to further his own mission. He wants to use Pepper to get to Tony. He plans on killing the President and using the Vice-President as a puppethead that he’ll control. Tony in his badly damaged suit and Rhodes will have to work together with everything they’ve got to save Pepper and the President and, basically the world. Will they be able to do it? They’ll have a good amount of help, but you’ll have to watch the movie to find out where the help comes from and how it turns out. I can tell you that there’s lots of action in this movie and it didn’t disappoint me at all, which is often the case with sequels.
