Music Monday Button
I love music and have been missing doing my Music Monday feature. So, I’m bringing it back. Each week I’ll share something with you. Some weeks it might be an interview, other weeks it might just be a song that I’m really enjoying. Which is what you get this week.

I love the rock band Papa Roach. They’ve been a favorite of mine for a number of years. I’ve seen them live a couple of times and they always put on a good show. I’ve enjoyed every one of their albums, each of which has been different then the one before. The last album, The Connection, is one of the albums I listened to the most during the year of 2014. Tomorrow (January 27) their new album F.E.A.R. (Face Everything And Rise.) drops. It’s the band’s eighth full-length album. I pre-ordered on the first day and have heard three tracks off of the album so far and can’t wait to hear the rest.
The first single from is entitled “Face Everything And Rise”. To me the song is about finding positive in the negative, and fighting for what you believe in. It sort of sums up how I feel about my fight for people with Down syndrome to be accepted.
I will face everything and rise
Never gonna quit until I die
Angels keep falling from the sky
I’ll take their broken wings and learn to fly
I will face everything and rise

“I think the theme of this record is just about overcoming obstacles in your life, all the difficult things,” the band’s bassist Tobin Esperance said in a recent interview with AXS.com. “So it’s more or less a hopeful record in the fact that it’s about finding that light at the end of the tunnel. The strength to kinda pull you out of that darkness.”
Here’s the video for Face Everything And Rise.

And if you happen to have enjoyed the video and want to see more about how it was made…

Have you ever been able to find positive in the negative?

  1. Since the New Year, I have been trying to make positive changes in my life. I’ve been taking classes at my local gym which I love. I have also been journaling more and blogging less, which has been great!

  2. Oh man, I am not sure if I have heard this song yet? I was a huge Papa Roach fan back in the day! Now I cant stop singing “Cut my life into pieces this is my last resort…”
