When I brought Dobby home I did a fair amount of reading on different dog foods before I decided which one we were going to feed. In recent months I made the decision to change foods again. I knew when I made the decision to change his food that I wanted to go with something with less additives. I wanted a higher quality product that would give Dobby what he needs. While reading about limited ingredient diets for pets I came across Natural Balance® and was very intrigued by what I learned. But, it wasn’t available in the stores I shop. Until now!
Pet lovers can now find Natural Balance at PetSmart®! Yesterday Dobby and I went to PetSmart for a new toy. We saw the giant banner announcing the arrival of Natural Balance, and then found products on end caps as well as in the main aisle.
Now, I originally thought Natural Balance was a relatively new brand. It’s not! Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Pet Foods have actually been on the market for 25 years now. (Yes, THAT Dick Van Patten! Anyone else watch Eight Is Enough when they were growing up?) Their food isn’t just for consumers like you and I, it’s also used by a number of trainers and breeders.
The Natural Balance line consists of dry and canned foods, stews and treats. I noticed the food is suitable for pets of all ages, and is available in several varieties, including grain-free, limited ingredient and vegetarian. The food is a great choice for folks like me wanting to feed a better choice with fewer additives, as well as folks who have pets with food sensitivities.
Dobby, sitting in the shopping cart like the little prince that he is, was quite eager to check out the different packages. While I was busy checking out the yellow bags of Potato & Duck he couldn’t tear his nose away from the red bags of Sweet Potato & Bison.
When we got to the next end cap we found even more Natural Balance products! There were these stews that looked like, well, they looked pretty much like people stew. I was intrigued by the Dog Food Rolls, which looked like they’d be perfect for travel. And of course we had to check out the treats, which came in a variety of flavors, all of which sounded like regular food.
We got a new toy before leaving. I believe when we return we’ll check out those treats. Maybe the Potato & Duck. Dobby’s always excited when we go to the store and is generally pretty content with whatever I get him.

It’s too far for my cats to ride to PetSmart, but I took my friend’s dog with me once. It’s a nice adventure for them and a great place to find out what’s new for pets.

My dogs love going to Petsmart but it’s hard because I have 3 of them! Most of the time I leave them at home.
I have to cats so i do not bring them to the pat store. My Sister has two dogs and i know she likes to bring them with her to Petsmart.
I need to take my dog in the car more often, to places like PetSmart. He gets all freaked out thinking we are going to the vet each time he gets in.
