DVD EXTRAS – “Learn the Alphabet” and “Learn to Count”
I’d never seen Peppa Pig before, but had heard it mentioned many times. I’m not sure how that is, being as it’s the #1 show in the UK for three years and airs daily on Nick Jr. The show is recommended for ags 2-7. Peppa Pig features Peppa, who lives with her brother George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig. The show also features Peppa’s friends like Suzy Sheep, Pedro Pony, and Danny Dog. When the colorful pastel pigs came onto my screen I wondered if it was more of a girls show then boys. I didn’t have much to worry about. Peppa is a fun-loving, adventurous young pig. Like so many young children, Peppa loves to play with her friends and jump in piddles. With all that fun going on there’s bound to be laughter. With piggy laughter comes snorting. The snorting had my son in hysterics. The show is just plain fun for young kids, where the episodes have underlying messages of the importance of family, being a good friend and trust.
