Painting And Decorating Brielle’s All That Glitters Disney Paint Room – #DisneyPaintMom

My last #DisneyPaintMom post left you with some information about Disney Paint and my plans for my daughter, Brielle’s, room. We just finished up painting and decorating, so here are some sneak peeks before Brielle’s Magic Room PJ party and the final room reveal!
Here are some ‘before’ photos of Brielle’s room. Notice the beautiful pink of her curtains and area rug; this is the color I was going for by picking out ‘Rose in Bloom’ from the Disney Paint line for the hearts we painted with Great Slate Disney Paint. The wall to the left of the windows is the wall we decided to decorate because the sunlight shines beautifully on it every day and we thought it would be perfect to pick up the glitter in the All That Glitters finish!




Ed & Brielle were the main painters on this project; they love to paint together, so I mostly supervised and photographed! I did, however, read over all the directions on the All That Glitters can before they applied it, which were very simple. Mix the paint well, and use a roller to apply – pretty basic! Ed started out applying All That Glitters to Brielle’s wall, and then Brielle jumped in. I touched up around the light fixtures with a paint brush.





The All That Glitters finish was very easy to apply with the roller, and went on as smoothly as any other paint I’ve used. After only a few minutes, we began to see the beautiful sparkles come through the glaze. We could especially see it around the lights, and even better when we turned the lights off and let the natural sunlight peek in!

How beautiful does that look? Certainly turning into a room fit for a princess right before our eyes. Brielle was very excited to see so many sparkles all over her wall.
My project was next: adding the castle decals to the wall and taping off and painting the Great Slate hearts next to the castle. The Disney Princess Giant Wall Decal was so easy to apply – best of all, it’s removable, so if you make a mistake you can peel it off and start over. I added Brielle’s name to the bottom with the included letters to personalize it just for her.
If you choose to create a shape on your wall as I did with the hearts, make sure you check out the Room Painter on the Disney Paint website. Here, you can design a virtual wall and test out the colors, finishes, and shapes before applying them. You can then print your plan, including stencils for the shapes; add these to your wall by projecting them onto the wall and tracing them! I unfortunately did not have a projector or flashlight handy to do this with the hearts, so I drew them by hand and then taped them off. Not an easy task, but I was very pleased with how they came out! Great Slate was also extremely easy to apply with the roller. I applied two coats of this to create a deep, rich pink to match the curtains and rug.





The directions for Great Slate say to let it cure for at least 7 days, so we are letting it rest before the big Magic Room PJ Party! Brielle and I did some shopping for the party already – a $50 Walmart gift certificate to a lucky winner of our door prize, handheld mirrors to decorate with jewels and Disney Princess stickers, a Disney Princess Dominoes game, and some goody bag items and thank you cards for all of Brielle’s Royal Guests! She is so excited for her party in a couple of weeks AND for her final room reveal, which will also be featured on my next #DisneyPaintMom post. Stay tuned!
