One thing that happened while I was in LA for the red carpet premiere of the Disney movie OZ The Great And Powerful is that I almost got thrown out of the El Capitan before the movie started. Yep, almost got thrown out right on my arse. Wondering why? When the movie started, I thought the beginning was so cool that I wanted a picture of a piece of the opening sequence. The movie itself hadn’t begun yet, only credits were up there, so I thought I’d be safe to take one still photo with my phone. Not video, just one still photo. Wrong! Security was right on the ball and had me get out of my seat. He asked if I was taking video. I explained what I was doing and offered to delete the photo so that I could stay, which the guy agreed to. I don’t blame them at all for the security, after all, the movie wasn’t even out yet. I wasn’t trying to do anything bad, it was just really neat. Anyway. Disney has just released a trailer with the footage I’m talking about, so I can finally show you what the shot I’m talking about looked like. It’s at about the 17 second mark of this new trailer. Here it is.

Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well. “Oz The Great and Powerful” is produced by Joe Roth, with screen story by Mitchell Kapner and screenplay by Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire. Grant Curtis, Palak Patel, Josh Donen and Philip Steuer are serving as executive producers. “Oz The Great and Powerful” opened in U.S. theaters on March 8, 2013.
