Valentine’s Day Craft – Ombre Tabletop Heart Art
Need an affordable gift for Valentine’s Day? Here’s a gift idea that is sure to be a hit with your girlfriend, wife, mother, grandmother, friend or anyone. It’s affordable to make, requiring only a few things you likely have around the house already or can easily get. This craft project is a terrific opportunity to create a beautiful gift without breaking the bank. If you are ready, then let’s get started!

The materials needed for this craft are:
- a piece of cardboard from a brown box
- white and red acrylic paint
- paint brush
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- cutter
- wooden skewer
- scissors
- thick red poster board

Step 1. Corrugate the cardboard that was extracted from a big brown box. Insert the wooden skewer on the side openings of the board, then carefully pull it upwards to lift the upper layer of the cardboard and expose the ribbed middle body of the cardboard. Make sure to insert the skewer alternately to properly remove the right layer.
Step 2. Use the paint brush to paint the red acrylic paint at the bottom part of the corrugated board. Afterwards, paint the white acrylic paint at the topmost part of the board opposite to the red one. Blend the red and the white acrylic paint while still wet on the middle part of the board. Let it dry for an hour.

Step 3. Using scissors, cut three strips of corrugated board. This should be at least 1 to 2 centimeters in width. The length would depend on how big you want your heart to be formed later.
Step 4. Create a heart shape from the corrugated strips and use a hot glue gun to glue the ends. You should have three of these.

Step 5. Position the hearts on the ombre board. This is randomly positioned. You can use other orientation for this part. use the glue gun to glue the hearts on the ombre board to finalize it.
Step 6. Glue the corrugated ombre board to the red poster board. This should be placed in the middle since the construction board will serve as the frame of the heart art.
