New Years Eve
First Night 2011 is ON !
The Township of Montclair will hold its annual First Night Montclair festivities this year, albeit in a somewhat abridged form. The Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs, which runs the popular New Year’s Eve event, has had to rely on the financial support of generous donors such as the Rosen Foundation, Fresh Direct, MCIA, Essex County and other sponsors to continue First Night Montclair activities for another year.
This year’s First Night program features the Big Apple Circus to Go, Magician Joe Fischer, Wild ‘n Wacky, Jazz House Kids, and Terry’s Serendipity Café. Tickets will cost $15 for the Big Apple Circus to Go (which includes general admission), and $5 for general admission (to all performances except Big Apple Circus to Go).
The Big Apple Circus to Go will have three performances: 5:00, 6:30 and 7:45pm, at Hillside School Auditorium, 54 Orange Road, Montclair. Wild ‘n Wacky – the hilarious stunt-filled audience participation show, and Magician Joe Fischer will all perform there.
Jazz House Kids and Terry’s Serendipity Café will hold shows at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Montclair, 67 Church Street, Montclair.
Tickets go on sale Monday, December 13 and may be purchased at Montclair Recreation, 205 Claremont Avenue, Montclair (cash or check), Monday thru Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. For credit card sales, please go to BrownPaperTickets.com.
