The Nap anywhere is a different sort of head rest. The NapAnywhere is an innovative head-support pillow invented by a diagnostic radiologist, Dr. Ravi Shamaiengar, to allow the user to sleep comfortably upright. It works like a travel pillow, but you don’t need to blow it up, it stores flat and takes up very little room and it keeps your head and neck in a position that will prevent pain and kinks in your neck.
This product is perfect for frequent travelers, although, it may take some getting used to. If you are used to travel pillows, this feels very different. It has a strap that holds the head rest against your torso. It felt sort of like a seatbelt to me. The position of my neck was very comfortable, but it does take an adjustment period, at least for me.
The Nap anywhere was the winner of a 2014 Product Innovation Award at the International Travel Goods Show.

“The NapAnywhere is a thin circular form consisting of a strong yet flexible endoskeleton covered with comfortable foam padding and wrapped in high-quality fabric. The top part of the device forms a cantilevered shelf which sits below the chin and back of the head. Once in place, the supportive surface is easily shaped to the user’s fit, cradling their head in comfort. Similarly, the bottom part molds over the shoulder. The central neck portion allows the weight of the head to be distributed across the shoulder. When worn the NapAnywhere allows the muscles in the neck to relax as the head is fully supported.”

Interesting but does it demand keeping one’s head still?
That’s the perfect pillow for me! I fly all the time, and I have yet to find a pillow that’s comfy.
Every time I fly, I wish I had one of these. This pillow looks like a good one to try.
This is so nice and compact and such a great product for travel. I’d like to get one for car trips.
OH my, that’s exactly what I need when I’m flying. I hate getting too close the windows, because you know a million people have touched them, and I hate sleep kinks from lack of support, in my neck!
What a great idea! I could sure use one of these on the plane to support my head. I’m one of those who bobs her head forward just as I begin to fall asleep – embarassing. Gotta pick one up for my next trip! 🙂
