Well today I received a comment informing me my blog didn’t look nearly as good as someone’s rear exit, I decided to move forward with something I’ve been considering for a couple of weeks. A published blog comment policy. So here it is.
I appreciate it when anyone reads my blogs, and love comments. I try to reply to my comments because I feel comments are a conversation between the blogger and the reader. They let a blogger know that someone has taken the time to read what’s been written and is responding. My comment policy isn’t exactly written in stone, but if you’re leaving a comment please be aware I am looking at these things. All comments are moderated.
Who are you? All comments are welcome, but you must use a real name. No keywords or gobbledygook will be accepted.
Is your comment on topic? How’s your language. Only comments of value will be accepted, all others will not be approved. Comments should be relevant to the topic of the post. I will not allow personal attacks. Comments must be in English.
Links. Comments linking to commercial sites will be deleted or have the link removed. If want a link to your commercial site from mine then review my advertising page and contact me to discuss and negotiate a price.
When? Comments for all post will close 90 days after the post has been written unless it is an exceptionally popular post generating a lot of conversation.
Change. This policy is fluid and subject to change without notice.

  1. Someone really said that about your blog? ugh.
I can NOT understand why people feel the need to put down a blogger. It’s one thing to have a differing opinion about a topic (political bloggers get BEAT UP in the comments, I am sure)…but when you have your every day “I’m blogging for ME” blog, and someone feels the desire to burst your bubble…that just SUCKS.
There’s a blog I read daily, a girl with brain cancer, who is a Christian. She is quite open about her faith, and that’s one of the things I love about the blog. But she continually gets beat up about it. Honestly…if you don’t believe in God, why are you reading her blog? To get your jollies about someone who is suffering? Because she’s NOT. But the most vicious comment came about a COMMENT…one her Dad made. Her FATHER wrote: “I see God looking down and saying, ‘That’s my girl!’…and I agree.” Someone felt the need to say rude and uncalled-for things about her FATHER.
I just don’t understand anymore. If I start getting nasty comments on my blog, I will go to moderation. I HATE moderating comments, but that’s where I’ll go.
I PERSONALLY like your blog, that’s why I read it!

  2. Hmm. not bad but why do u delete a comment which is made by reading the post and a good one…though it contains some commercial link? Don’t u thing reading ur blog and thinking about it is enough to let them keep their links…?

    1. Expat – A good question. First I look at who it’s from to see if there’s a name or email, or if it’s just keywords. I look at the comment and see if it’s relevant to the post, written in sentences that make sense as opposed to just nonsense words. I allowed this one.

  3. I really don’t understand people on the Internet. I have also had to moderate all my comments due to “nasty” people. If they don’t like the look of your blog, they don’t have to read it. I personally love it!! Keep up the great work.
