My Gym Manips
Established in 1983 and named #1 Children’s Fitness Franchise by Entrepreneur Magazine in 2014, My Gym is a leading fitness center destination for children with over 325 locations worldwide, including international locations in China, France, Canada, and Brazil, among others. More than 30 additional locations are planned to open worldwide in the next 12 months. My Gym combines innovative, early physical education/pre-gymnastics classes with state-of-the-art facilities to empower children ages 6 weeks through 10 years by helping them acquire the skills, confidence, and positive self-image needed to become healthy young adults. My Gym’s award-winning, structured, noncompetitive and age-appropriate classes and birthday parties enhance children’s overall development through games, music, exercise, sports, gymnastics, puppets, unique rides, and fun. The children gain strength, balance, coordination, fine and gross motor proficiency, agility, flexibility, and social skills. In 2012, My Gym launched their new interactive Building Blocks Program to all enrolled children ages 2.5 years and older. The program helps children work toward specific milestones in their physical, cognitive, and emotional development and then celebrates their achievements with stickers, progression ribbons, medals, trophies, graduation certificates and more in periodic Building Blocks Acknowledgment Ceremonies. The My Gym television show, “My Gym At Home,” airs on BabyFirst, a 24/7 channel focusing on children’s development.
In order to further enhance the My Gym experience, the folks at My Gym offer a line of products that help enhance children’s My Gym experience and further develop progress at home. We received two of those items – a Gator Skin Foam Ball and a set of 2 Foam Rings, both came with My Gym Activity Cards. Since its a snowy day these were a perfect activity for my little ones to get active.

The Gator Skin Softi Foam Ball, valued at $13.95, helps develop semi-complex skills, increase fine and gross motor skills, and expand imaginations. The ball is extremely soft, light, and easy for little ones hands to pick up. The kids can toss the ball around the house and your mind can be at ease that nothing will get broken. The activity card gives you ideas for mind, body, imagination, sport skills, and other fun games. E decided she wanted to see if she could bend over and only use her pointer fingers to pick up the ball, which is a Mind Activity, and was very excited to that she could do it. Then since all the kids are home they wanted to play Hot Potato which they absolutely LOVED. The ball is really a great indoor activity starter to keep kids moving.

Next the kids tried the Foam Rings, valued at $9.95, designed to help develop semi-complex skills, increase fine and gross motor skills, and expand imaginations. The Activity Card had mind, body, imagination, sport skills, and other fun games. The Foam Rings have some weight to them, but they’re not too heavy which means that BG can walk around the house with them. They are soft to touch. The only problem I saw with them is that they collect fuzzies, and in our case dog hairs. R wanted to try balancing a ring on her head and for an active 2 yr old did really well and laughed at herself “sneezing” it off. Then E and A decided they would try rolling the ring to each other which was a lot of fun and they had to try to keep it balanced.
Over all these two products were great for keeping the kids active and busy indoors. I definitely recommend them for children of any age. It doesn’t matter how many kids you have. I even enjoyed playing ball with BG.
You can find more information on these products and others as well as purchase in the My Gym online store.
