Music Monday With Pop Evil – Drummer Chachi Riot’s Top 5 Snacks

Recently I announced I’d be doing a weekly post on music called Music Monday. The post will be about music, could be something about a song, a band, o just something I find interesting or relevant. For this week’s post I’m featuring the band Pop Evil and their song “Trenches”, which is from their latest album “Onyx”. “Trenches” recently went to #1 at rock radio and is the first #1 for the band. I love the song. I know some people think of it as angry. I don’t think of it as angry, but I do think of it as a battle song of sorts, a song about overcoming a personal battle. My own personal battle is for my son and others with special needs. They have the rights other people have, particularly the right we all have – the right to be treated respectfully. Every day is a battle, and to me it often feels like there is a great divide. My son deserves happiness and respect, and when people don’t treat him accordingly I do feel like they’ve stolen something from both him and me. And anyone that knows me knows that I won’t take it, I do fight back with everything I’ve got. Hence part of the reason I identify with “Trenches”. Along with the fact that it rocks.

Now that I’ve shared the meaning I find in the Pop Evil song “Trenches”, here’s a little something about Pop Evil. I asked Chachi Riot, the drummer, what his favorite snacks on the road were. He was very kind and answered me right away.

I wasn’t expecting his favorite snacks to be so healthy so I asked a follow-up question, which he also answered right away. I asked Chachi if he was gluten-free. His reply was that his diet is “modified” Paleo. “I practice clean eating with subtle cheats of dairy and RARELY a muffin or similar,” he said.
