Music Monday Button
In case you aren’t following me on Twitter (shame on you! LOL) or if you don’t like my page on Facebook (What?!), you may not realize how much I love rock music. Yep. I’m a bit of a headbanger. After last week’s interview with the singer of my favorite band, I thought it might be fun to put together a weekly series of posts about music, featuring bands and songs that are interesting. I’ll be keeping them quick and easy, because I know that everyone’s busy. I was thinking to call the series Music Monday, like the hashtag on Twitter. Get it? This is the first of those posts. I have a couple of others lined up, as long as bands are up for answering my questions I’ll keep doing them. So stay tuned. On to this week’s post.
Age Of Days Radioactivity
As I’ve mentioned quite recently, I think the best music has appealing sound and lyrics that mean something. Recently I learned that two musicians I have seen, Sal Costa (formerly of My Darkest Days) and Cody Hanson (of Hinder), were involved with a new song by the Canadian band Age of Days. I already knew of Age of Days from their song “Afflicted”. Curious, I clicked over and found the video for a song called “Now Or Never”.
Now I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen lots of articles over the years bashing rock n roll and saying that bands only like to party. I don’t really know that some people realize that even rock stars actually think about things that matter. This video mentions many of the issues our society faces today, including hunger, homelessness, bullying, rainforests, poverty, animal testing and more. I’m sharing the video because I feel for the message it contains. The song mentions “we are waiting for this one thing”. I know that to be true in my case, and I hope someday it happens. The very end of the video contains the statement “We can make a change together, but it’s got to be now or never”. You all know I completely agree with this statement. I advocate every day with that very belief.
Here’s the video for the song “Now Or Never”. FYI – There is no profanity in this song. No horrible screaming either.

So now that I’ve shared a video and song I’m really enjoying, here’s a little something about the band Age of Days.
I asked the band what their top five snacks while on the road were. The were awesome and answered right away that their top five snacks while on the road weren’t really snacks, they were all breakfast items. These guys love breakfast. Plus I guess it’s probably something that’s fairly easy to find when you’re traveling. So here are their top five snacks / breakfast foods.
5. Coffee…
4. Pancakes
3. Sausage
2. Eggs
1. Bacon
I love that their #5 answer is coffee. While there have been days I came close to living on it I don’t know that I’d consider that one a good guys. 😉 I love bacon too, as do so many of us. I like mine not soft, squishy and limp but not crunchy and almost burnt either. For me it’s got to be right in the middle. Be sure to check From Val’s Kitchen, where I’m sharing some 10 easy breakfast recipes from some of my friends. We can all rock out while we cook!
Age of Days should be announcing tour dates for the US and Canada in the next week or so. Hopefully they’ll make a stop here in Jersey, I’d love to catch them live. They just released an album in Canada, I’d like to check that out when it’s released here in the US.

  1. I’m a long time rocker too. I’ve heard a lot of positive messages in rock songs and have never believed the one fits all about bands and musicians. This song is awesome! Great message.

  2. I’m digging the song! And I could see why coffee would make the top 5 list being on the road all the time. I know I need it to keep myself up at night sometimes!

    1. Mallery – I can actually take coffee to bed and go to sleep, caffeine does nothing for me after all this time. I love a good cup of coffee.

  3. Sounds like I could practically just join in the band right now! 😛 I love breakfast items!
I’ve totally been following all of your tweets and have noticed your rock music theme lately. 🙂 Awesome!

    1. Jenn L – LOL about the tweets. I could never join this band, or any band, I am only musically inclined when I’m alone. I play fantastic air drums when I’m driving. And man can I sing when I’m alone in the car. ROFL!

    1. Jeanette – If I joined a band we’d all be in trouble. UNless I could do something simple. Maybe the cowbell. We need more cowbell, LOL.
