Valentine’s Day will be here soon. The folks over at Kmart are really getting into the spirit of things with a fun giveaway. if you’re on Instagram (follow me, I’m @valmg there too!) here’s how you can enter to win.
As special as Valentine’s Day is, it’s not the only day out of the year that you show your loved ones how special they are or how much you care. You might treat your best friend to brunch when you catch up, just to let her know you appreciate spending time with her. You and the kids bake Grandma her favorite cookies—using the recipe from when you were little. And let’s not forget the little things that your loved ones do for you, too. Maybe your husband surprises you with roses and a bubble bath at the end of an especially hectic week, or your tempestuous teen gives you a big hug when they come home from school.
Gestures like these help us show our friends and family that we love them, and when they do the same for us, it lets us know that they love us too. Sharing these moments with the other people in our lives helps to spread those warm and fuzzy feelings – and with social media, it’s even easier to share these moments with your friends and family who live miles away. What could be more rewarding that showing someone you love them?
Now through Wednesday, January 22, Instagram users who share these special moments and gifts of affection with Kmart Instagram will get the chance to win a $25 gift card. To be considered, tag @Kmart in your photo and use #MoreLove in the photo’s description.
LOCAL ORGANIZATION JOINS THE FIGHT AGAINST HUNGER! Welcome to the table, a Community Outreach Brunch serving residents of Long Branch and surrounding towns.
LONG BRANCH, NJ – Providing Hope, a 501 (c) (3) organization welcomes residents of Long Branch and surrounding towns to the table for a monthly Community Outreach Brunch. The Brunch will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 535 Broadway, Long Branch on January 26th from 12noon to 2pm and every 4th Sunday thereafter.
In an effort to address hunger and the stigma associated with asking for help, the brunch provides a social, relaxing environment for our neighbors that are struggling with food insecurity. The goal of the brunch is to unite families to create healthy communities with support from local businesses and community groups.
The hunger epidemic has resulted with our neighbors barely surviving, the tragedy of one in six children not having enough to eat, families must depend on convenience stores and take out for their food supply, where stress is high because people feel so alone. It doesn’t have to be like this.
Providing Hope, a local non-profit organization envisions a world where attention to the whole person—body, mind and spirit-leads to healthy and strong communities. We employ successful healing techniques with an emphasis on the model of change from the behavioral health field and elevate them to a community level, literally providing HOPE: H=Helping Hand, O=Options, P=Pathways, E=Encouragement. Currently we bring together schools, local businesses, government agencies, churches and concerned individuals around community gardens to address both hunger and childhood obesity. In the next year, we have committed to grow enough food to feed every family living below the poverty level in the town of Long Branch, NJ and provide supportive programs to address the roots of food insecurity.
Providing Hope welcomes individuals and families to the table for a Community Outreach Brunch, January 26th, 12noon to 2pm at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 535 Broadway, and Long Branch.
