Minnie-Rella is a full-length movie. Basically, the clubhouse gang wants to get Minnie a surprise gift. Since it’s to be a surprise they keep her busy with lots of chores around the clubhouse. After doing all of those chores Minnie winds up taking a nap, and dreams that she is Minnie-Rella. As in the movie Cinderella, Minnie-Rella is going to a fancy ball. She’ll require the help of her fairy godmother, Clarabelle, and her other friends to be suitably dressed, ready in time and on her way to the ball. Of course Minnie looks lovely. She gets to the ball and dances with the prince, which is Mickey Mouse of course. Not wanting to break the magical spell, she rushes from the ball and loses one of her two glass slippers. Fortunately her handsome prince is able to determine that she is the owner of the glass slipper and they wind up together.
My son loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Minnie-Rella was a welcome addition to our collection. He loves the familiar, fun and colorful characters, all done in crisp and clean CGI animation. I love that the stories are “nice”, meaning they have a point and they’re not mean like some “children’s shows”. I also like that the show seeks to reinforce important skills such as addition and subtraction, counting, sorting, patterns and problem solving. This DVD is a must-have for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fans.
Bonus Episodes
- Pluto’s Tale – In Pluto’s very first fairytale adventure, we help Prince Pluto rescue Princess Bella from the clutches of sneaky Wizard Pete.
- Mickey and the Enchanted Egg – Mickey finds an egg which soon hatches into a Baby Dragon. Mickey and his friends have to return the Dragon back to her castle home and convince the powerful Wizard Pete that they didn’t steal the egg in the first place.
- Daisy’s Pony Tale – When Professor Von Drake’s new invention, a Fritzer-Spritzer Spray Potion, accidentally gets spritzed on Daisy’s ponytail, it makes her hair grow super long! That’s not goody-good at all. Along with Mickey and Sire Goofs-a-Lot, Daisy travels on her pony to find twelve leaves of the magical plant, Rapunzel, in order to reverse the effects of the Professor’s potion and fix her ponytail.
