RB, TJ and I spent a lot of time talking about a bunch of things last night after dinner. One of those things was cell phones, and how they’re sort of taken for granted now. He’s constantly getting text messages and phone calls at home. I made sure our plan allowed for unlimited text messaging so I wouldn’t be surprised with a giant bill. His phone usage time is the highest of the three of us but not unreasonable. He asked why I didn’t use it more at home. I explained that I have a land line for that and that I consider my cell phone for emergencies or to reach me when I’m not home. I also pointed out that I had Nextel until two years ago and I never got a signal in the house so I couldn’t use the phone. That has changed now that I have Verizon and the cell tower is not too far away but I guess old habits die hard. Do you think cell phone usage is a measure of popularity?
