Did you know that I used to swim competitively? I did, for many years. At one point I was swimming on two teams, for two to four hours per day, five or six days a week. I stopped swimming when I moved out of my Moms at the age of eighteen. Coincidentally, that was right around the same time that I started gaining weight. Hmmmm. Anyway.
One of the things I enjoyed about swimming besides the swimming was the view. Competitive swimmers are usually pretty fit. See, swimming uses every muscle in the body. It leaves you with a great shape and physique, you can look completely toned and muscular without looking all lumpy and bumpy like a wrestler. Bathing suits, well they can be very flattering on the right body. Let me just say that male swimmers can be lots of fun to look at. Swimming was one of the few aspects of my young life that I enjoyed and I’m not ashamed to say that part of that was because oogling the boys could be lots of fun.
Something else that was fun was the travel that came with competitive swimming. Not only did I swim in pools all over the state of New Jersey, but I also swam in other places including the Olympic pool in Quebec. now that was cool. We were in a program where we spent time with a team there and participated in a competition. I don’t get many visits from people from other countries these days. Actually, I should say any instead of many, until this weekend.
This weekend I received a visit from the Fairy Hobmother. For those of you unfamiliar, the Fairy Hobmother is from the UK. I envision him living in a little castle near Appliances Online. He visits bloggers spreading happiness and fairy dust.  And he’s the best kind of guest, he brings gifts! Now I know some people think of the Fairy hobmother as a male fairy in green shirt and tights. Like this.

While I like a man in tights as much as the next girl, I don’t envision him quite that way. I think of him more like a swimmer – fast, fit, and well, half clothed. Something more like Ryan Lochte.

Would you like a visit from the Fairy Hobmother? You can find the Fairy Hobmother on Twitter, but the best way to convince him to visit you is by leaving a comment right here on this post telling me what type of outfit you think the Fairy Hobmother wears. I can’t wait to hear your answers.

  1. Ooooh… I don’t know what is more interesting to fantasize about – male swimmers or the Fairy Hobmother? LOL!
That is awesome that the Fairy Hobmother paid you a visit. You never know where he might show up next.

  2. I have 2 visions. In jacket and hat as Ed Winn in the Jerry Lewis movie Cinderfella from 1960 or in tights, satin shirt and wings as Dwayne Johnson in The Tooth Fairy.

  3. A visit from the Fairy Hobmother…how fun! I’m thinking he’s probably dressed pretty fine – maybe a nice black suit and hat. Oh, and I think he probably wears some cool looking glasses;o)

      1. well, casual dressy would mean decently dressed (jeans, dress shirt)…LOL, casual comfy would mean sweats to me That’s my bum mode. 😉

  4. My kids swim competitively! Hmmm…a swimming fairy…I think my kids could use one of those when it comes to summer swimming races!
