I admit it-I’m a sucker for a good Amish story! I was sure what a movie about an Amish love story would be like, though. Would it be too cheesy?
I am happy to report that Love Finds You in Charm had excitement, romance, 2 very handsome men, and a lot of sweetness among the storyline! The main character, Emma Miller, has always felt pulled toward a non-Amish life. She has dreams of driving a car, wearing stylish clothes and living out in the bigger world than her little Amish community. She has a boyfriend that seems nice enough, but she doesn’t seem to have a very deep relationship with him.
The chance arises for Emma to help a relative in another town, Charm. She makes several friends, an “English” young woman who seems to be searching like Emma, an Amish guy (blonde, strong and gorgeous with a heart of gold) and a very dashing “English” man who is handsome and exciting and seems to want to sweep Emma off her feet!
I can’t tell you any more, but some of the storyline certainly didn’t go where I thought it would! It is a great movie to watch with family and discuss with kids or teens about making life choices and ask what they thought about some of Emma’s choices. I would also ask teens what they think would have changed or happened in Emma’s life depending on what she chose. There are several different options that Emma has to choose between.
This would be a great movie to watch around Valentine’s day, too!
This story is also a book available at major retailers.

I like watching movies and reading books with Amish settings too for some odd reason. I will probably catch this one if it ever ends up on Netflix.
This sounds like a great movie. I really enjoy romantic love stories.
The lifestyle of the Amish has always fascinated me.
