I worked in computer sales for over ten years. Back in those days we would often get telephone calls from people after they’d bought something, telling us some silly sounding story.
“I just unpacked my computer, why does it have a cup holder?” That was in reference to the CD tray.
“Why do I need a foot pedal for my computer?” That was in reference to the mouse.
“I plugged my computer in and I don’t see anything on the monitor. what’s wrong?” That was in reference to an order for a monitor and keyboard only, no computer.
The list of stories goes on and on and on. One thing that almost all of the stories had in common was that they could have been avoided, had the person asked questions before buying. Sometimes the question may not be easy to explain clearly. Sometimes the answer may not be easy to find online or understand. Those are the times when a real live product expert would come in handy. After all, there aren’t many things more disappointing then waiting excitedly for something to arrive, only to have it get there and not be able to use it, right?
If you’re interested in tech and are one of those people that finds it helpful to ask questions before buying, then I have an event for you. Maybe you want to know what product would be a fit for you, or what something can or can’t do. Walmart is hosting a live online event where viewers can watch product demos and talk about them before buying. The HP Show and Tech Live Event takes place on both Wednesday May 7th and Thursday May 8th! For today, Thursday, May 7, the live events are scheduled for 12 pm EST, 6pm EST, and 8pm EST.
Two of the products being shown are the HP Regal TouchSmart 15” Laptop ($498 with free shipping) and the HP Photosmart 7520 All-in-One-Printer ($149.99 with free shipping). These are two really great deals from a great brand. They’re definitely something to consider if you’re shopping for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and upcoming graduations.
The HP Show and Tech Live Event is a great opportunity for you to get an up close look at HP products, and gives you the chance to employees questions about them before you buy. They can help you determine what your needs are and then help find you the best solution and deal for it. The products can all be purchased in your local Walmart or ordered from Walmart online.
One of my readers will win a $50 Walmart Gift Card. To enter all you have to do is retweet one of the tweets below and leave a comment on this post with your Twitter name. Wouldn’t it be great to win this and be able to apply it to the purchase of something you learned about at the event!

@JenniferHiles This is awesome, I love HP products. Would love to learn more about them. Thanks!
I forgot to answer the question. The feature I look for most is processing speed/power. I do a lot of video editing so that comes in very handy!
I totally forget about the mouse foot petals. I am going to have to ask my mom if she remembers using them.
Hi! 🙂 Retweeted at OV_099. I really prefer double sided printing, but as long as it is easy enough to turn the piece of paper over myself, I can live without it. Just saves paper that way; not so bulky and all that stuff.

HP keeps up to date with technology and I usually turn to them before anyone else when it’s time to upgrade.
Did someone really ask why their computer came with a cup holder? I find it hard to believe that someone would ever think that the CD tray is a cup holder.
This sounds really neat. I love my HP laptop but my printer stinks. If I try to print a document that is more than one page I always get an error. But if I print one page at a time it works fine. Nobody can figure out how to fix it. Ugg!
I love the cup holder question! I know someone who would probably think the same thing, haha!

I love the idea of the live show and tech demos. It’s really nice to see new tech products and get all your old tech questions answered.
I’ve long been a fan of HP products, and it is lovely to hear they are taking time out to talk to their customers and answer questions.
I used to work for a local internet company a long time ago and we got some pretty crazy phone calls. I bet the ones that HP gets on a daily basis can be quite entertaining as well.

This is an awesome things, am going to totally take part of this; I love HP/.
We actually just bought an HP touchscreen tonight! We have been loyal hp customers for years. Such a quality brand!
KISS features.
I love HP products I am pretty happy with the printer I bought a while ago. So efficient
To be honest I don’t buy HP products. I had a really bad experience with them a long time ago. I only use Apple computers and Canon printers. I’m sure their printers are great now because it was a long time ago but have just never wanted to be bothered by them after their horrible customer service experience.
I retweeted my name is@ nancy_loring. I’m sure it won’t be to difficult to spend that giftcard.
I think HP products are innovative, especially when it comes to their printers and the many capabilities they have.

The one thing I look for in a computer is a good reputation, good social network presence (ie answers questions on twitter or facebook) and high consumer ratings.
It’s good HP engage with this kind of stuff now.
