My hubby and I have a checking account. We do not have any credit cards, just a debit card that takes money from our checking account. I check our account online every one to two days. I can’t explain why, it’s just this weird thing I do. I like to know which payments have cleared and which have not. I like to know how much (or let me be precise and correct myself, know how little) money we have at all times.  My biggest problem is that if I don’t write down things I buy with the debit card while I’m spending it I won’t remember for another day. Are other people like this, or is it just me?

  1. I always put my receipt in my check register, and I always check my account every day. Not for my mistakes, but theirs (well, my mistakes once in a while). I feel better checking the account tho. I worked for a bank for 28 years.

    1. Yes, actually I try to put the receipt in my check register but sometimes it takes me longer that way. I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one.
