REVIEW – HoMedics Triple Shiatsu Massage Cushion With Heat

I’ve dealt with backache throughout the years. Sometimes it’s minimal and tolerable. Other times it’s quite unpleasant and very hard to be comfortable. Sitting in a chair for any period of time often makes it flare up. So, I was really curious how the HoMedics Triple Shiatsu Massage Cushion With Heat would work for me.
The Triple Shiatsu Massage Cushion with Heat uses new 3D-Massage technology, which was designed to closely mirror an authentic Shiatsu massage. The massage nodes in the cushion offer the traditional up and down movement, as well as in and out movements. The 3D technology allows the nodes in the cushion to go up and down your back, hitting the sore spots. You can choose to have the massage in a forward or backward motion. I find forward to be slightly more pain relieving and backward to be more relaxing. It’s great that with the push of a button you can change from one to the other, customizing the massage to your needs at the time. The massaging action of this cushion is nice. It actually surprised me. There are two settings, low and high. I prefer the low setting. The cushion has a heat button. Heat also helps with the discomfort. No doubt as fall arrives and we head towards winter I will have the heat on even more often.

The Triple Shiatsu Massage Cushion does come with two velcro straps, one towards the top and one towards the bottom, to help hold it securely in place on your chair. The velcro straps are not all that long so they may not fit around all chairs. For example, I like to use my massage cushion at my desk chair. My desk chair is wider than either of the straps so they aren’t of use to me. The picture just above on the left is of the cushion on my chair. The picture just above on the right is one that I took of a store display, where you might be able to see the straps in use on a task chair. I haven’t had any issue with the massage cushion moving around. It’s got enough weight to it that it can stay in place, and once you sit down it isn’t going anywhere.
The Triple Shiatsu Massage Cushion With Heat does require an electric outlet. The power cord is on the right side of the cushion. Keep this in mind when you are determining where to sit down. The electric outlet is on the left of where I use the cushion, so I have to let the cord drop down and behind my chair. The cord also has a segment that holds the remote control. The remote control can be placed in a pocket attached to the cushion.
This massage cushion folds up into a compact package that’s easy to store. Of course if you’re like me you’ll appreciate the massage cushion so much that you won’t unplug it and put it away for storage. Whether you leave it out like me or store it, the size and ease of use makes it very convenient.
