I love things that smell good. I especially enjoy things that smell like certain flowers, fruits and foods. I was recently introduced to Giving Tree. This small company makes different body care products including bar soaps, facial bars, soap sweater, body lotion, specialty soaps, balms, and essential oil rollers. I received some soaps and lotions with some really great scents, including gardenia, peppermint tea tree, oatmeal milk and honey. They all smelled amazing! They offer other scents as well, including vanilla, lilac, cinnamon almond, peppermint and more. The variety is nice, there’s a scent for every different taste. When you purchase you’re not only getting great smelling products made with natural ingredients, you’re also helping the environment and supporting different charities. Here’s a full description of the products.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Our products are made 100% of plant-derived materials. While not certified organic, all ingredients are authentically natural. The palm oil we use is always organic, and ethically sourced so it does not contribute to the deforestation that is customarily associated with conventional palm oil. We do not use synthetic fragrances, colorants, foaming agents or detergents. Most of our items are gluten free. More than half of the products are vegan. The only 2 animal products we ever use are goat’s milk & beeswax. Our lotions are 100% vegan, and all of our soaps except for Sweet Roses & Oatmeal, Milk & Honey are vegan. The company owner is a vegan in food-life, and is working toward making the entire line vegan.
In the course of making our products, we do not use the customary ‘one use & toss it’ plastic items. We have glass alternatives that can be reused indefinitely (and….incidentally…this practice also saves our customers money because we buy our tools once and for all, rather than buying a pack of 100 and including the cost in our prices)
We are a 100% plastic free company. All products are hand crafted and hand packaged/wrapped. If possible, our products are shipped without any packaging (just the FDA-required labeling). Recycling takes resources, so we opt to package our products that require packaging (lotions, balms, etc.) in reusable or compostable containers (which, also happen to be recyclable). Our shipping boxes are all reclaimed (from our own orders and other local businesses). We use shredded junk mail/discarded paper as packing material instead of bubble wrap, packing peanuts or other synthetic materials.
20% of our profits go directly to charity. We love supporting non-profits that wisely utilize all donations – especially those who find creative ways to cut costs, allowing them to serve even more people. Charities are vetted extensively prior to receiving any money from us, and each is required to utilize at least 90% of their total proceeds to their causes. Our charities do rotate each year.
Which of the Giving Soap products would you like to find in your holiday stocking?
These look pretty awesome. I’ll have to check them out for a couple of hard to shop for people on my list!
I love the packaging on those soaps and lotions. They look like great gifts for those tough-to-buy-for friends.
I have to get some of this stuff. I NEVER buy anything like this because I’m afraid of where it comes from and what was done to make it. Thanks for the heads up!
Silly question meaning gardenia of course.
How pretty! I absolutely love how the soaps are packaged!
I would love to find any of these in my Christmas stocking! I’ve heard some wonderful things about Giving Tree and I love the company ethos too.
