I’ll be attending an engagement party in June. (No, not for my brother, for one of the girls at work.) I’ve never been to an engagement party before so I don’t really know the etiquette. What do people give as an engagement party gift? The couple doesn’t live together and won’t be until after the wedding, which isn’t for two years. I don’t think it matters but I’m not sure exactly how formal the party will be. The bride to be has been looking at halls/rooms but as far as I know they aren’t super fancy places with wall fountains or anything like that. I’d love to hear your gift suggestions.

In a case like this, I’d take a small gift. Two things I’ve given recently are a subscription to iomoi’s e-stationary (for the bride to make all her wedding-related e-mails extra cute) and then I also found these adorable monogramed dishtowels/handtowels on etsy that I ordered with the couple’s married initial.
