MY THOUGHTS
I like Barney because the show encourages imagination. For example, in the Riff’s Musical Zoo episode, Riff deals with the disappointment of a postponed trip to the zoo by putting together a musical zoo made up of instruments that sound like animals. The musical theme continues in the Special Skills episode, where Riff learns to be himself instead of being nervous about performing in his first public show. The Rhythm episode encourages cooperation and helping others by showing how all of the gang helps Baby Bop learn about rhythm so she can join a marching band.
