No compensation or product has been received for this post. I am sharing this information to show my love for Ford and my distaste for the traditional school fundraiser.
I hate school fundraisers. Don’t get me wrong. I understand their importance all too well. I have been an active member of a PTA and/or a PTO for about 15 years now. My last two years were spent as the PTO President of my youngest son’s school. Believe me, I know that fundraising is necessary. It’s only through fundraising that some schools can get some of the equipment or products that students really need. Fundraising is how my son’s school got the money for communication switches, tech products, and even safety equipment for the bathrooms. I get it’s important, I really do. But the begging involved, well, it just stinks. Over the years I’ve had to beg people to buy overpriced wrapping paper, pizza, pasta, candles and a bunch of other things. The only thing slightly more saddening then seeing a new fundraising flyer is the moment when you realize you and your relatives (if you’re lucky, which I’m usually not) are the ones that bought anything. Anyone that’s ever opened up a backpack to think “there has to be another way”, as I did last week, will be happy to know that there is. It’s called Drive 4 UR School.
The Drive 4 UR School program is not your ordinary fundraiser. It is a fun way to help schools raise money by involving parents, extended family members, and the community in general. Ford and Ford Lincoln Dealerships partner with a local high school to conduct a test-drive fundraising event. For every valid test-drive completed, Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to the participating high school, up to $6,000! So, the more people who test-drive a Ford vehicle at the event, the more money can be raised!

I had no idea that Ford did this. Now I like them even more.
I homeschool so we do not do any fundraisers. Wish I could because curriculum is out of our pockets and it is expensive!
What a great way to earn money for your school. I love it and will totally be looking into it further.

what a great idea. I am thinking about getting a Ford Hybrid so I will be happy to participate. My most hated fundraiser might be the overpriced wrapping paper.
It is the worst! Making your young child go door to door to try to sell overpriced candles or candy bars is awful.
The Drive 4 UR School program sounds like a great way to raise money. I never liked doing the bottle drives for the school.
All of them because not only are they overpriced but they are also inconvenient when one has to pick up the merchandise one day only at a specific time–hard especially for 24/7 working folks.
