Ever since I was a small child I have enjoyed reading. I used to go downstairs to practice dance, turn on the music, and read. (No wonder my dancing stinks.) With Dream Letters, your child discovers one day a letter in your mailbox. This mail, sent by the residents of a faraway land, is personally addressed to him or her. But this time, there is no longer question of a passive act of reading for the characters who sent the letter eagerly wait for an answer. As the whole story is written according to his or her will, your child plays the leading role in this magical adventure.
The young reader is given the reins of the story as king, queen, explorer, director and the characters ask for their help. In the letters your child receives, the characters describe events and ask questions: there are decisions to make, activities to complete, puzzles to solve, and more!
Within each mail, your child will find several letters written by different characters, as well as maps to complete, gifts, informative facts about history or biology, paper toys, seeds to plant.
Your child must then respond with his/her own letter. The rest of the story depends on him/her! The answers imagined by professional writers guided by teachers and therapists, allows your child to fully take his or her part in an adventure in which he or she is the key.
A letter after another, your child creates a real interactive epistolary story with the utmost personalization, reading, writing and living a unique adventure. You won’t have any choice but to call him or her “Your Majesty !” and get with your child into your own story!
Children will enjoy their adventure, and even look forward to reading and writing more. How fun it will be to not only be the author of a story, but also one of the main characters! Each time your child writes they are helping determine what will happen in their stories in the future. The additional items that accompany the letters, such as maps and crowns, will only serve to excite your child more and get them even more interested in participating in this interactive game.

What a fun way for kids to practice reading and writing. I may look into this when my daughter is older. She is just learning to read and write now.
I watched their video once and thought it was such a cool idea to get kids imagining, reading and writing.
My twin granddaughters are still a bit young for this, but I will definitely keep this in mind.

Oh – I would have loved this as a little girl! And, my son (grown up now) did have something like this – with his name already in the book and going through an adventure. Great to get them reading and writing!
This is definitely something that I could see my 9 year old playing and writing with. Looks like she would have fun. She’s at a great experience so far with her high school penpal and this would fit right on in with what she is doing now.
