Dr Brandt Microdermabrasion
Lately my skin has been looking a little dull and well, just tired. Lately? Who am I kidding? It has looked this way for quite some time now! I have always tried to take care of my skin. Cleansers, scrubs, serums and tons of other products. While some do absolutely nothing , others tend to be too harsh. When offered to try Dr. Brandt’s at home microdermabrasion skin exfoliant cream I was so excited. I follow a lot of beauty “gurus” and have heard rave reviews about his skin care line. It seemed to be just what my skin needed, a pick me up.
Dr. Brandt is a dermatologist who has been practice for over 20 years. Celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow swear by his products.
“ Microdermabrasion is a miracle. I use it once a week to maintain a smooth, bright complexion.” Gwyneth Paltrow
Dr. Brandt’s Microdermabrasion was also the 2012 Allure Best of Beauty Award Winner- Best Scrub. Now do you see why I was so excited!
Dr. Brandt’s Microdermabrasion is supposed to be an alternative to those pricey procedures you get at your doctors office or spa. It polishes off all those dead skin cells to reveal healthy radiant skin. Also helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne marks, and skin discolorations. Here are some of its key ingredients.

  • Chamomile- calms, soothes and reduces irritation.
  • Aloe Vera- healing emollient that soothes irritations and prevents scarring.
  • Aluminum Oxide – pharmaceutical grade crystals that polish and remove dead skin cells.
  • Jojoba- easily absorbed vegetable oil that soothes and softens the skin.
  • Lactic Acid- alpha hydroxy acid derived from milk gently sweeps away dead skin cells and softens skins texture.

This product was simple to use. Dampen face with warm water and gently massage the cream onto skin for 1 to 2 minutes. Make sure not to get in your eyes. You can barely see the micro fine crystals but they are working their magic, and I guarantee you don’t want them anywhere near your eyes! Almost instantly I could feel them working. No pain or burning but more of a tingly feeling. It was actually really relaxing! It also smells really good. It smells just like lemons, which I love! After you rinse off your face make sure you pat dry. You skin is so delicate you don’t want to be tugging and pulling at it.
After just one use I can defiantly say I was impressed. My skin was SO soft! It felt super clean and cool. (almost like how fresh and cool your mouth feels after brushing your teeth) It honestly felt like I could feel air going through my skin, that’s how clean my pores were. It suggested use is 1 to 2 times per week, making sure to leave at least 3 days between uses. I have had this product for a little over 2 weeks and used it about 4 times. Since my first use I’ve noticed that some of my acne scars are now starting to fade and the overall appearance of my skin is just better. I have even ran some errands without make-up. Everyone who knows me knows that is RARE.
Dr. Brandt’s Microdermabrasion skin cream is a bit on the pricey side. For a 2oz tube it will cost you about $78. Yes, it is a little expensive BUT a little goes a long way. I only needed about a dime sized amount for my face. I have used it for 2 weeks now, and barley made a dent in the tube. It is not something that you use everyday so you can defiantly make this last. I am not sure how much a spa microdermabrasion treatment actually costs. I am guessing it can run you anywhere from $100 to $200 per visit. Compared to those numbers it doesn’t seem too expensive now. Hands down, this is the best skin exfoliant I have ever used and it will be going on my Christmas list!

  1. Oh, I need this! I’ve been trying a variety of masks and other products and most make my skin feel tight while on and a teeeeeeny bit softer/smoother afterwards but the “just brushed teeth feeling” for your face is SO much more of what I’m looking for. This sounds perfect for me.

  2. I love microdermabrasion products. I always get scars on my face that after a couple sessions fade away. I love the way it removes all the dead skin.
