Decade Of Kissimmee Memories Contest Winner Reveal – Making Memories #kiss10

I received an all expenses paid trip to Kissimmee, Florida to attend the Decade of Memories Event from Experience Kissimmee. No monetary compensation has been received. As always, any personal opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced by the sponsor in any way.

Not long ago I wrote a post about the Kissimmee Decade Of Memories Contest. This was a very cool contest because the grand prize winner was to receive 10 Kissimmee vacations, a prize valued at over $87,000! Well, the contest is over. Over 1,500 video entries were received, and then those were narrowed down to five finalists. Next was the difficult task of selecting the grand prize winner. Facebook users were able to vote for their favorite video, and by doing so they received a chance to win a $500 Visa gift card.
I was fortunate enough to be to travel to Kissimmee, Florida for the big reveal of the winner, standing in for my friend Jen of The Mom Reviews. There were fifteen bloggers there, including myself. After spending a couple of days with the finalist families doing some fun things in Kissimmee, it was time for  the big reveal as part of a luncheon at the Westgate Resorts.
The five finalists – the Driver, Henning, Levinson, Tippin, and Shuff families – were all present.

Each of the finalist videos was shown, as was a brief video from the time spent in Kissimmee. We heard from each of the families about why they made the video they did. Then it was time. I don’t know who was more excited, the five families or everyone else waiting to see who had won. The Driver family was pronounced runner-up, and received a Kissimmee gift basket that was so full that it had to be shipped to their home. And then there were four remaining. And suddenly, there was one. The Shuff family of Grand Rapids, Michigan was announced as the grand prize winner, receiving ten years of Kissimmee vacations.

We’d spent some time with the Shuff family. Mr. Shuff hadn’t been able to make the trip down, so Mrs. Shuff’s friend had accompanied her to help with the kids. Mrs. Shuff was so excited, and we overheard her calling her husband from the stage to let him know they’d won.
At the end after the winner was announced, Westgate Resorts surprised each of the four other families with a week vacation at Westgate Resort of their choice. How classy!

The videos were all very different. But, they all had something in common. Memories. Kissimmee is a great place to make memories. I am so thrilled I got to spend four days with this group of bloggers. I got to meet people I’ve known online for quite a while, like Stefani, Jen, Deb, Jennifer and Alyson. I got to make new friends like Brian, Missy, Kayla, Brian, Jessica, Ashley and Lara. We did lots of fun things that I will never forget, like our visit to Antarctica at SeaWorld and our air boat ride at Boggy Creek Air Boats. I now have lots of new memories, and that’s what life’s all about – making memories.


To my blogger friends, new and old, it was great hanging out in Kissimmee with you! I hope we get to meet up again sometime somewhere!
To all five finalist families, congratulations! It was great meeting you and spending time with your families. I hope you all enjoy your vacations and make lots of new memories!
