I really enjoyed this new Super Hero Girls movie! There were many unexpected DC Universe fan-favorites that showed up during the whole entire movie, keeping the audience emotionally vested and wanting to see more. As always with the AMAZING DCSHG creative team, the art direction, writing, dialogue and individual character development are kept current & engaging. While inconspicuously sending out positive feel-good confidence-building messages into every direction.
I am going to say although I really enjoyed the story it was a little bit cheesy at times. Of course, I am not a little girl. My granddaughter enjoyed watching it and she is not one to watch these types of movies. She liked that they were ‘strong’. Otherwise, I enjoyed the fact that it was a “superhero girls movie”. When I was little Wonder Woman was more eye candy than a superhero in my opinion while the rest of the characters were looked at more as heroes.
I also think a neat fact of this movie is that of course all of the voice actors for the main characters are girls. But not only that but the director, writer and producer are all women. It has English subtitles, comes on one disc, and is produced by Warner Home Video.
You get over an hour of superhero action!
I loved all the super comics so I bet many girls would enjoy this.
I definitely want to watch this! I think it will be really good for all the girls out there!
