This post is part of a partnership with Choice Hotels. I have received rewards points in exchange for sharing information about the program. Please note that, as always, any personal opinions reflected in this post are my own and have not been influenced by the sponsor in any way.

I like the concept of loyalty programs. I absolutely love the one that my grocery store has. I get discounted pricing. And, their system earns me things like free hams and turkeys at the holidays, based upon what I’ve spent. I find the program very useful because it saves me money, and because it gives me the freedom to shop as I like and rewards me for doing business there. Choice Hotels recently made some major changes to their Choice Privileges rewards program that will make it more useful than ever for members.
“The exciting new changes to our Choice Privileges program mark a major milestone in Choice Hotels’ history,” said Jamie Russo, VP of Loyalty and Customer Engagement. “While many rewards programs continue to decrease the value of benefits for their guests, we’re building a loyalty program that gives more and faster perks to travelers starting right when they join. We have built these new features around guests, and we want them to feel constantly rewarded by the new Choice Privileges wherever their travels take them.”

Over 25 million Choice Privileges members will receive greater and faster value from some of the program’s exciting new features, which include:
- Your Extras. Weekday travelers can earn a special reward — a little something ‘extra’ — right when they check in. For each qualifying stay that includes at least 1 weekday night (any night Sun. through Thurs.), the member can earn a special reward of their choice. U.S members have 5 options, varying from Fuel Rewards® savings at participating Shell locations to Amazon.com credit. International members have 2 options: 500 bonus points or 100 airline miles from participating airline carriers.
- FlexRewards. Get to a free night faster— Members can redeem points for free nights at discounted point levels at participating hotels, varying by season. There will be up to 2,000 hotels reduced during either the weekdays or weekend at any time.
- Digital Gift Cards. The first hotel company to offer immediate in-app gift card downloads, Choice Privileges members can receive instant gratification with new digital gift cards.
- Keep Your Points. As long as members stay active by completing a qualifying activity at least once every 18 months, they get to keep their points.
- 10 Points per Dollar. All 5,500 Choice Hotels now earn 10 points per dollar spent – including economy and extended stay hotels, such as MainStay Suites, Suburban, EconoLodge and Rodeway Inn. And, during our award winning promotions, it is now easier than ever to qualify since members no longer need to stay two consecutive nights at economy brands.

I love the idea of a rewards program that helps my money go farther. By using points to reserve a room, I have that much more money to spend on my family and the vacation itself. The flexibility of the Choice Privileges program are great. You can choose whether you want to use fewer points by traveling during the week. You can also choose to save points or even splurge in your decision as to which property to stay at, since the hotels are all priced differently. And best of all, your points will not expire as long as you remain an active member. To keep your membership active, you only need to have qualifying activity every 18 months.

Wow! This sounds like a great program! I like loyalty programs because they usually offer great discounts and this program seems like a perfect program for someone who likes travelling.
We’re a member of the Choice Hotels rewards program. It’s a great way to get a free night every once in a while. I love how the hotels are always clean & spacious.
Total value for the money.
This looks like a great option for the business traveler. I will have to tell me husband about this!

I’ve never stayed at any of these hotels but the rewards program sounds awesome. Will definitely check these out for our next family trip.
I actually just stayed at a Choice hotel last night for a quick getaway for Mother’s Day and I’m saving up my points for a gift card. I love their hotels and their free breakfast. 🙂
This is good to know! I had no idea they added some perks. We have the Choice Reward program.
I’ve never even heard of this reward card! What great deals! Do they sell this in Canada as well?
I am glad to read your review today. It is perfect timing as I was about to book our summer holiday trips. We have stayed in Choice Hotels but not a member, though.. Looks like they have good perks.
This is great! My husband travels for works sometimes so we will have to look into this.
This loyalty program is amazing, I do like companies who reward their customers like that. My uncle is traveling a lot so it will definitely be useful for him. Thank you for the great review!
