Cancun
I love to travel. I thought it would be fun to share some of the places I’ve been, and some that I’d like to go. I’ve never really considered myself to have an official bucket list, but I do have a list of places I’d like to go and things I’d like to do someday. I guess I have a bit more of a bucket list then I thought. I have wanted to go to some warm places for a while now, one of them being Cancun.
I recently learned that Cancun was recently named the #1 summer travel destination by Orbitz and Fly.com. Once you know that it’s easy to understand why it’s the site of TBEX North America 2014. That’s right. The well-known TBEX conference will be held in Cancun this year. For those unaware, TBEX is a gathering of an international group of more than 1,000 bloggers, travel writers, content creators / contributors, agents and professionals of the tourism industry, all of whom are intensely active in social media.T BEX’ host cities receive tons of visibility through all forms of social media including blogs, podcasts, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Flickr, Google +, and more.
TBEX takes place over the course of three days, from September 11 – 13, 2014. TBEX consists of meetings, educational seminars and presentations where internationally renowned experts, social media influencers and celebrities all participate side by side. The conference is accompanied by a rich program of social events and activities that showcase the host destination and hotel.
TBEX North America 2014 will take place at Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort, Cancun’s largest hotel. The AAA Four Diamond Award recipient is located on Cancun’s tranquil south shore, surrounded by 123 acres of tropical foliage and secluded white sand beach. Comprised of three luxurious sections – Moon Grand, Sunrise and Nizuc – Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort recently completed a 100 million dollar enhancement project which included renovations and upgrades to guest rooms, lobbies, refreshed meeting space, restaurant upgrades and more.

The property offers guests more than 2,400 waterside and garden view accommodations. One of the brand’s most impressive additions is the new Moon Palace Arena, a 140,000 square foot convention center comprised of meeting and exhibition space that blends form and function. The new venue consists of multi-functional space including eight versatile meeting rooms (approximately 11,000 square feet each) capable of hosting up to 10,000 guests at one time. Moon Palace also created exciting new amenities and attractions including a FlowRider® Double wave simulator, the resort’s nightclub, Noir, a dolphinarium, a new kids club, “The Playroom,” Wired Teen Lounge, and an authentic English bar known simply as, “The Pub.”
“As the largest property in Mexico, both in size, meeting and event capabilities, Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort offers an idyllic backdrop for TBEX 2014,” said Gibran Chapur, Executive Vice President for Palace Resorts. “We believe the conference will provide a showcase for Moon Palace’s unprecedented, high caliber offerings, and we look forward to showing the attendees of TBEX just how Palace Resorts is redefining what an all-inclusive can and should offer.”
“This year’s choice of Cancun and the treasures of the Caribbean is very exciting for the TBEX community,” commented Rick Calvert, CEO of NMX Events, producers of TBEX. “Cancun’s renowned cultural and adventurous experiences, spectacular scenery and warmth will create a wonderful background and lots of editorial content for attendees.”
The Cancun CVB, along with Palace Resorts officials, have worked diligently with the TBEX team to create the best possible experience. “As the host destination, we want to show visitors and their readers the variety of experiences travelers to Cancun and Moon Palace can expect, including the destination’s culture, gastronomy, pristine beaches, renowned service and world-class entertainment options,” said Jesus Almaguer, CEO of the Cancun CVB. “We are honored to be this year’s host for TBEX North America 2014.”

Jetsurf Mexico Cancun
JetSurf Mexico recently set up a jet surf school in Cancun’s famed hotel zone. Jetsurfing allows people to ride a motorized surfboard. These motorized boards are currently the only motorized vehicle that can be transported by car, boat and even domestic and international flights as personal luggage. Today’s technology has enabled engineers to get the weight of a JetSurf powerboard and its accessories down to about 30 pounds. To learn more visit jetsurfmexico.com.

  1. We have been to Cancun before.. and, in 2016 it is my turn to pick a place we will go to keep warm in the winter. I told my Hubs I am choosing someplace that is not our usual place to go. Won’t he be surprised if I give him a Cancun vacation

  2. No. Except for a couple of quick side trips into Canada, a couple of hours south pif the Mexican border, and three Carribean cruises, I do the USA. My bucket list has Alaska and its northern lights at the top.

  3. I have never been to Cancun, but it sure does look beautiful.Hopefully one day I’d love to surprise my husband with a vacation, this looks perfect.

  4. MoonPalace! So cool! We stayed in Rivera Maya at the Adventura Spa Palace for our honeymoon because I saw it in a magazine and I NEEDED to go (thank God for timeshares!). I would love to go back to Mexico… I know hubby would, too!

  5. Wow, I would have never thought to do that for my wedding. I would definitely love it, not sure my husband would join me though.
