Unilever, co-title sponsor of We Day California, has announced the first recipient of ten Bright Future Grants to help support the ideas of young people who are working every day to embody the mission and vision of Unilever Project Sunlight, a long-term initiative to motivate people to live sustainably by inspiring them to create a brighter future for children.
On stage, Gina Boswell, Executive Vice President, Personal Care, Unilever, announced 14-year old Angela Chuang from Yorba Linda, California, as the first grantee. Recently, Angela organized a We Create Change drive for school building in Ecuador and a We Scare Hunger food drive in her local southern California community.
Other young people also have the opportunity to enter for a Bright Future Grant from Unilever Project Sunlight to bring their visions for a bright future for their own communities to life by submitting a brief description of their idea along with an accompanying photo at www.creatingabrightfuture.com.
