MY THOUGHTS
I received a copy of The Lion King Blu-rayDVD Combo. I love Disney movies but The Lion King is one of my all time favorites. I loved curling up on the couch and watching this with my son this past weekend. I don’t think he completely understood the story but I do know that he enjoyed the bright colors, animation and music. I love the story just as much as I love the amazing graphics, colors and animation. . Although there were no human characters in the movie, the animal characters Simba, Nala, Mufasa, Sarabi, Scar, Zazu, Timon, Pumbaa, Shenzi, Banzai and Ed all display very human emotions – playfulness, stubbornness, greed, grief, anger, honesty and love. Watching Simba’s character develop from birth to adulthood reminds me very much of the way you can watch a child’s personality and character develop as they grow up and are influenced by those around them. Watching him grow from cub to king is quite the journey – he learns to love others, face the truth, confront deception, forgive himself and take a stand for what is right.
