The new Disney app for iPad, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Paint & Play, is sure to give your little ones long-lasting entertainment. With three places to play and tons of items to color, this app goes a long way! Plus, it has many unique features that set it apart from the typical coloring book-type apps:
• A magic wand to transform your paintings into fully-animated 3D characters
• Texture creation using your in-app camera
• Experiment with color as you make cupcakes for the bake sale
• Play music OR create your own with the Mousekemusic Player
• Learn about colors, 2D, 3D, line, form, and symmetry
The app is still a bit advanced for my toddler, though he loves looking at Mickey and all the different colors! My daughter helped me test out the app. She chose to begin in the living room and colored Mickey. I love how the things she colored came alive in the scene. Best of all, your child can be as messy as they want with coloring – once the objects come alive, anything colored out of the lines won’t be seen!
Next she colored the fish, pink of course!
See how it comes alive and “swims” right off the page and into the scene? Adorable! There are also tons of coloring tools and colors to choose from, so it never gets boring. My only complaint with the coloring part is that it’s difficult to fully color your object so it appears fully colored in the scene. Mickey’s shoes, for instance, had a white gap on the tops because my daughter couldn’t color the top in the coloring book image. However, this could just be me being really nit-picky – my daughter didn’t seem to notice at all, and I doubt many kids would! After all, it is a kids app – though I had tons of fun with it too, I’ll admit!
Make sure you play around with the app to discover other surprises, such as the ability to make your own music using the jukebox!
This app is fairly priced at $4.99 and you can purchase it from the Apple App Store.
