I am an optimist at heart. I do have a bad day every now and then. Most of the time I try not to take them too much to heart. Hubby, on the other hand, takes bad days very personally. He’s sure that he’s the only one that has them and that he has them all the time. Alexander, the main character of the new Disney movie Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, feels the same way.
Alexander Cooper (Ed Oxenbould) is 11 years old. Shortly before his twelfth birthday he has a terrible say. He feels it’s one in a string of many, and seeks comfort from his family. His family is positive and upbeat and just can’t relate. His stay-at-home father (Steve Carrell) and dedicated career-minded mother (Jennifer Garner) brush the notion off. There is no sympathy from his siblings (Dylan Minnette and Kerris Dorsey) either. Late one night Alexander makes a wish that the rest of his family would have a bad day, so that they could relate to what he goes through. And that is how the the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day comes to be.
Imagine waking up and having the worst day of your life. A feeling Alexander has had for some time. Now it’s his family’s turn. His older brother has his drivers test and his prom that night. His father has a job interview. His mother has a celebrity client makingĀ a public appearance. His sister will be starring in a play. Imagine all of those things going horribly wrong and you have his family’s day. There is a lot to relate to , as well as laugh at, through the movie. I won’t give you all of the details because I can’t do the movie justice, yo really need to see for yourself. But I can say that in the end the horrific day brings the whole family closer in ways they never expected.
Here’s the trailer.

I can’t wait to see this movie! I’m sure we have ALL been here before. It seems like if our day starts out with just one thing going wrong, the rest of the day follows suit.
Many things can turn a bad day into a really bad day, attitude has a big part. I enjoyed this movie.
I am mostly optimistic until I’m not if that makes any sense. I have a feeling I could relate to this movie! I do really want to go see it.
Love the cash of this movie! Steve Carrell is perfect as the dad. It’s nice to see how Jennifer Garner has shifted from the hottie role to the mom role.
I have been looking forward to this movie. It looks really funny and yet has heart. Love the cast!!
What makes a bad day for me? Either waking up with a sinus headache, waking up sick, or one of the kids waking up sick.
I am looking forward to seeing this movie!
