Back in the day, when I got married, when I heard the word wedding registry I got a little nervous. See, back in those days, most of the registries were only available through higher-end stores. Places I couldn’t afford. Thankfully, that isn’t the case today. One of my favorite tech stores, Best Buy, now offers wedding registries, and they have a lot more than computers!
Best Buy has all sorts of items available for their wedding registry and to purchase, including many of the items you want or need to get your new life as a couple started. The Best Buy Wedding Registry offers a checklist that breaks down gifts into categories. This makes it easier than ever for you to easily see what’s on the list and what isn’t, room by room.

Kitchens can be an expensive room to set up when you’re getting started. They can also be a little scary for someone who has never had to set a kitchen of their own up before. With that in mind I am sharing my top five gift ideas under $50, just for the kitchen. These items are perfect for including on a registry, particularly the wedding registry at Best Buy.

Digital thermometers are a very important kitchen tool to have. With more and more stories making news on foods with salmonella, the Maverick Fast-Read Digital Probe Thermometer is something you’ll want in your utensil drawer. This thermometer measures temperatures from -58° to 572° and delivers an accurate temperature reading in less than 4 seconds, so you can quickly and easily monitor food’s internal temperatures as you cook.

A kitchen scale is great for someone that watches portion size, as well as those who buy things like meats in bulk and freeze them. With only two buttons, the EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale is easy to use. It can weigh items up to four pounds and measures four modes including grams, ounces, kilograms and pounds.

A Hand Blender such as the 200w Cuisinart Smart Stick is great to keep in your kitchen. It’s light and sturdy 2-speed design make them perfect for blending foods and beverages right in their pot or pitcher.

As a newlywed couple you’re likely to be doing a fair amount of entertaining. With its 12-cup oil capacity and an 8-cup food capacity, the Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Deep Fryer gets your favorite fried foods done in a hurry. No need to worry if you’re new to deep frying, this model has a light that signifies when the fryer reaches the temperature you’ve chosen and an audible tone that sounds when your food is done.

No kitchen is complete without a slow cooker. A model such as the Hamilton Beach Stay or Go 6-Quart Slow Cooker is perfect for a new couple or family as you’ll be able to cook for guests or just store some in the freezer. The generously sized dishwasher-safe removable 6-quart stoneware crock can easily accommodate a 6-lb. chicken or 4-lb. roast as well as other large cuts of meat. There’s no guesswork involved, as this model has three programmable settings of manual, program and probe to make its use very simple.

I like the $50 price point a lot because it’s a reasonable price for one person to be able to spend without breaking the bank. But, thanks to Best Buy’s group gifting feature, you can feel free to add higher priced items to your registry. A FoodSaver Vacuum Food Sealer, which retails for about $179, is a great example of a product that would be perfect for group gifting.
Group gifting provides the ability to add higher priced items over $199 to the registry that buyers can chip in together on. This allows you to include more expensive items on your registry without worrying about what guests are spending. It also allows the shoppers to stay within their budget but still be contributing towards higher priced items that you want that they might not otherwise be able to afford to gift.
Aside from the big selection, there is something else you’ll love. The Best Buy Wedding Registry offers free shipping with no minimum. Some places only ship for free if you’ve spent a certain amount. Best Buy will ship wedding registry items – big or small, affordable or expensive – for free. This is a great way to stretch your dollars even further.

What some fantastic ideas, I wouldn’t know where to start with a wedding registry. x
My husband who I could lose my mind on right now THREW OUT my slow cooker the day of our move instead of packing it in a box (omg!!) so I’ve been eyeing that one above. I think I’m going to take the plunge.
These would definitely be helpful to new couples. Those vacuum sealers are so useful!
These are all great ideas. Nowadays, people even put food on their registries, anything goes.
What a great list of gift ideas! I love that you can pretty much count on Best Buy for all gift-buying!

Excellent choices for the couple. I definitely would have loved any one of these when I was getting married…many, many, many moons ago.
I love these gift ideas. I like to give a gift card to a store they like. That way they can go get what they need.
All these gifts are great ideas as a wedding gift! I especially like the slow cooker!
I think a slow cooker is always a great gift. I have 3 of them in different sizes and use them often.
