I love online coupons. Recently as part of a group conversation online I was asked how I find them. My reply was that I search a lot. With that Sharon quickly offered her tips for finding online coupons, which I am now sharing with you with her blessing.
More and more consumers are turning to the internet as a source for finding good deals, both online and offline. Coupons are a must these days, and many online retailers are beginning to get in the habit of routinely releasing coupons, because they’ve seen just how many shoppers won’t buy without them. If you’re using the internet to find coupons for your purchases, here are some tips to keep in mind:
Make a list of the stuff you want to buy.
Don’t just go aimlessly browsing for coupons. You’ll get sidetracked, and you may wind up purchasing things you don’t need or even necessarily want. It’s especially important for those who have a budget to stick to to be more conscientious with coupon hunts: make the list of things you need first, then look for coupons.
Combine coupons.
Many retailers except their coupons and merchandise coupons at the same time. Target is an example of a retailer who does this. Let’s say you want to buy a 4-pack of yogurt, and you have a $0.75 manufacturer coupon for it. If Target also has their own $0.75 coupon for it, you can use them together, and save $1.50!
Subscribe to your favorite coupon sites.
Go directly to coupon sites, such as www.dontpayfull.com, to find coupons for your favorite retailer. Most of these sites are updated multiple times per day, and offer search and filter features so you can find your retailer’s listing directly, rather than having to wade through pages of coupons for retailers you’re not interested in. These sites usually have complementing social network accounts, usually Facebook and sometimes Twitter – make sure you follow these sites, too, so you can get up-to-the-minute updates about recently listed coupons.
Follow coupon blogs.
There are many categories of blogs and even entire blogs devoted to the art of couponing. Here you’ll find tips on where to find the best coupons, how to obtain coupons directly from manufacturers, and how to use them in conjunction with sales to get the best possible deals.
Check out brands’ websites and social networks directly.
Many brands offer coupon codes and other promotions exclusively to Facebook fans or Twitter followers, or even just to the list of people who subscribe to their newsletters. Make sure you don’t miss a single coupon by subscribing to all of these channels, and make sure you check in on them regularly.
Some posts on this site contain an affiliate link. Affiliate links are used in an attempt to offset the operational costs incurred by running this website. Clicking on an affiliate link does not increase the cost of the product if you buy it. It does mean that I MAY make a commission if you purchase the item. Coupons, I use so few of them. The reason–what I buy rarely if ever have coupons! Those are very good tips for finding the ones you need. I will try a few of those suggestions.
Great tips! I wish I could find more coupons to use and had good luck with them. Will definitely have to keep these tips in mind.
No, but I wish I could figure out an answer for the big retailer who said mine which hubby just printed for me from the internet were counterfeit. It gturned me off on the company and on coupons online. Embarrassed, I refused to purchase not only that item but everything else (a sizeable cart full of assorted things).
Great tips for finding coupons. I would love to just print out coupons but our store here doesn’t except printed coupons which is stupid I believe. Thanks for sharing.
Great tips! I do all of these. Years ago I was a “crazy” couponer and had a stockpile that was unbelievable. Couponing like that was stressful (really!), so now I just use coupons for what we need at the moment, and don’t stockpile ahead too much. I shop online A LOT more than I used to now – good ‘ole google is great for finding specific products at the cheapest price!
